Details of duty leading to the death of the Martyr - On 04/06/2011 in between 5:30 - 6:00 am, East Garo Hills Police along with 5th Bn., personnel who were on night highway mobile patrolling duty at Mendipathar-Songsak Road suspected militants ambushed the police party at Tapa Darengchi. During the encounter, three police personnel viz., (1) Battalion Hav. Blein. Mukhroh, (2) BNC/619 Duke M. Sangma and (3) BNC/548 John Hillbirth K. Marak died on the spot.
