Details of duty leading to the death of the Martyr - On 22nd October, 2014 at about 6:00 pm, a credible information received regarding a camp of some militants at Songmagre under Dalu PS. On receipt of this information a team was formed comprising of CI (Sadar), CI (Dalu), IC Purakhasia OP along with SOT/SWAT Personnel. The team launched the operatoin at first light and Late. Promod D Sangma was leading the cut-off party. While they came under heavy fire Late. Promod D. Sangma sustained fatal bullet injury and succumbed to his injuries.
