(L) UB Constable Rakhi Ch. Sangma

Details of duty leading to the death of the Martyr - On 5th November 2013 @ 10:30 Am, DFM. Lykichen Ryngkhlem, UBC/36 Rakhi Ch. Sangma of South Garo Hills, DEF and Bn/ Hav. Dhondiram Marak, BNC/607 Bipul Rabha and BNC/741 Marshanstar Nongdhar of 3rd MLP Bn camp Baghmara were proceeding to Tura District Jail from Baghmara by Departmental vehicle (M/Gypsy King) to bring the UTP who is to be produced before the court at Baghmara. On reaching at Kolapara near Kapasipara village NH-62 they were ambushed by a group of heavily Armed GNLA Militants killing all the 5 (Five) police personnel on the spot. The Militants also snatched away 2 (two) AK-Rifles and 1 (one) carbine from the slain police personnel.
