Details of duty leading to the death of the Martyr - On 05/11/1999 @ 6.45 PM, while H/C S.R. Pathak was controlling the traffic at Nongthymmai Police Point under Madanriting Traffic Branch, suddenly occupants of a vehicle, suspected to be militants opened fire at him with sophisticated weapons. As a result of which, he sustained bullet injuries. Immediately, he was removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong but he died on the way to the hospital
