(L) Hav Dandiram Marak

Details of duty leading to the death of the Martyr - On 05.11.2013 morning UBC/38 Rakhi Ch Sangma of Baghmara PS along with Hav. Dondiram Marak, BNC/607 Bipul Rabha, BNC/741 Marshanstar Nongdha were deputed to Tura by Departmental vehicle No. ML-02-2653 (Gypsy) driven by DFM Laikichen Ryngkiem to pickup one UTP from District Jail, Tura in connection with a Baghmara Women PS case, while proceeding Baghmara towards Tura, on reaching at Kolapara PO-Kapasipara at about 10:30 AM they were ambushed by GNLA terrorist group led by Hebel T Sangma and Janjang total numbering about 30(thirty) cadres by lobbing grenades and firing by sophisticated weapons. As a result of which all the aforesaid police personnel sustained bullet injuries and died on the spot.
