(L) ABC Romilson K. Marak

Details of duty leading to the death of the Martyr - On 25/07/2002 @ 5:00 PM, on receipt of a source information and being led by arrested U.T.P Wel Marak, Shri P.A. Sangma, Dy.SP (Hqr), South Garo Hills, Baghmara alongwith SI J. Rabha, ASI C.K. Marak and their Special Operation Troops conducted search operation at Amongre, Rongra area. During the search operation near the residence of one Shri Sion D. Sangma, suddenly some unknown ANVC militants opened fire at the police party from their sophisticated weapons and the police party also retaliated. During the encounter which lasted for about half an hour, one police personnel namely ABC/114, Romil K. Marak and the said U.T.P. received bullet injuries on his person and died on the spot.
