Details of duty leading to the death of the Martyr - On 30/09/2005 at around 6:30 am, 69 (sixty-nine) Police personnel were deputed for law and order duty at Tura town on a Police vehicle bearing Reg. No. ML-02 1062. On the same day at around 6:30 pm, while returning from their duty and on reaching Ganolgre (near fishery farm), the Police party was attacked by unknown violent mob who let down a big tree from the road side dropped it on the top of the above mentioned police vehicle. As a result of which, vehicle got damaged and the said constable who was sitting inside the vehicle died on the spot while 4(four) other Police personnel received injuries on their persons.
